What is the legend of the lost city of gold?
The legend goes that there are actually several cities of gold. The legends mostly center around Spanish conquistadors who found a lot of Aztec and Mayan ruins and searched for these legendary cities. One story concerns one Conquistador (I think it may have been Cortez) who saved the life of a cheiftans daughter and in reward was shown the ruins of one of these cities deep in the jungle. He later tried to return their and find it but could never find it again.
