What is the legend of the hindu goddess durga?
The Goddess Durga manifested when evil threatened the existence of the gods. In order to combat this evil, all the gods got together and offered their radiance to Durga, with each one forming a part of her body. They also gave her powerful weapons with which she destroyed the demon, Mahish and his minions. Now, whenever demonic forces threaten to create imbalance, all the gods reunite, creating an all-powerful force called Shakti or Durga.
