What is the legal framework for gay couples to have a surrogacy arrangement?
Just as any other couple, a gay couple is also able to make use of a surrogacy arrangement. No one is to be discriminated due to their sexual orientation. A gay couple can seek surrogacy services at gay-friendly clinics and become parents just as anybody else. Both partners are registered on the birth certificate as the legal parents. In some cases other countries require further documentation and court papers in order to be able to finalize surrogacy arrangements.
