The legal drinking age is 18 in Costa Rica. Those students who have not reached 18 by March 13, 2010 will be more closely supervised and may have to have co-signatures by the FYST directors on activities such as horseback riding, white water rafting, etc. During orientation seminars we discuss the code of conduct, the strict laws in Costa Rica about drug use and drug smuggling, and possibly being sent home if any laws are broken or if the University Code of Conduct is violated.
