What is the legal age for child support to stop if the child is not going to university?
Answer Raymond: If the child is 18 years of age and able to support him- or herself the obligation to pay child support ends. If the child does some kind of training that will enable him or her to become self-supporting (Berufsausbildung or University) support will have to be paid until the end of the training/university. Details apply and your case might be different due to special circumstances. This is mostly case law. Also, part of it is in the Dsseldorfer Tabelle.
