What is the Least Time Track (LTT)?

0

The Least Time Track (LTT) is the predicted track that the vessel should take to complete the voyage in the shortest possible time. The LTT is a complex mathematical simulation which balances distance and expected vessel performance against forecast wave heights and prevailing surface currents. This LTT distance and performance on route is, by definition, always equal to or better than the LDT. It is better in the sense that the overall distance may be longer, however the performance on the longer route is such that it will result in the vessel completing the passage in less time.
