What is the law regarding ambulances going through red lights?

0

Ambulances can treat a red light as a give way when they are on an emergency call only. I am told if i cause a collision going through a red light on blues and twos it is my fault- it is the same as if i went through a give way line without looking. It’s not the law but we can claim an exemption to the law when driving under emergency conditions. The resulting collision is not your fault- you were not expecting an ambulance to be coming through those lights- they should have anticipated that- it’s in our training. Get your insurance to talk again with the ambulance service involved.
