What is the Law of the Pendulum?
It is interesting to have in the house a clock with a pendulum, not only for checking the time but also for reflecting a little. Without its pendulum, this type of clock does not function; the movement of the pendulum is profoundly significant. In ancient times the dogma of evolution did not exist. In those days the sages understood that historical processes always take place according to the Law of the Pendulum. Everything has its ebb and flow, its rise and fall, increase and decrease, moves to and from in accordance with this marvellous Law. It is not strange at all that everything oscillates, that everything is subject to the swaying of time, and that everything evolutes (evolves) and involutes. Joy lies at one extreme of the pendulum, sorrow lies at the other one. All our emotions, thoughts, longings and desires swing in accordance with the Law of the Pendulum.
