Most knife laws allow up to a 3″ blade. Butterfly knives are outlawed in most every State. Switchblades are allowed in many except for the type where the blade exits the handle straight out (not on a swing mechanism). Since most States do not allow anyone under 18 to buy them, you may find this includes carrying them. Switchblades were for sale openly in Florida.
