What is the law in Elberfeld concerning abandoned vehicles?
Elberfeld has an ordinance concerning abandoned vehicles. Ordinance 2000-4 states basically that a vehicle is considered abandoned and may be removed by the Town Marshal if any of the following are met: parked on a public street or public property without valid registration displayed; parked on public property without being moved for three days or more; any vehicle located on public property that constitutes a hazard or obstructs pedestrian or vehicular traffic; or any vehicle that is in any way inoperable and left on public property. This ordinance also addresses vehicles on private property and requires basically that vehicles kept on public property for more than 30 days that are inoperable or not properly registered are abandoned and may be tagged and removed by the Town Marshal pursuant to this ordinance.
