What is the Law Enforcement Studies Diploma Program?
The Law Enforcement Studies Diploma Program is specifically designed for persons interested in becoming a municipal police officer in British Columbia, or gaining employment with one of the many provincial or federal government agencies who employ people who conduct investigations and/or regulatory inspections and engage in law enforcement activities. The quality and scope of the training will prepare graduates to stand out as highly competitive applicants to police departments and other law enforcement agencies. Throughout the program there will be an emphasis on communication (oral, auditory, written), problem solving, ethics and professionalism, working with others and adaptability. Practical emphasis will be placed on professionalism, investigative skills, and the application of processes, procedures and laws. Participation in, and completion of the Law Enforcement Studies Diploma Program is NOT a guarantee of employment as a police officer in British Columbia. Hiring of new police
