Ms DIANE BEAMER: A few weeks ago I reported new figures to honourable members that showed an industrial and commercial boom in western Sydney. The CB Richard Ellis report nominated the Westlink M7 and Iemma Government’s City of Cities plan as “sparking a 58 per cent jump in new developments in the first six months of the Iemma Government”—a stellar performance. So big plans, more jobs and more investment are coming to fruition in Western Sydney. But, unlike those opposite, the Iemma Government will also look after those in need of special help: the long-term unemployed in our community, the disadvantaged, and people with disabilities.
