If your position is eligible for participation in the program, discuss your plans with your supervisor, including an agreed upon separation date. Fill out the election form and ask your supervisor to review it. The form including all necessary approvals must be forwarded by your department to Human Resources no later than 5 p.m. on September 30. You may also want to discuss this opportunity with your own financial advisor. • What else do I need to do after I sign up for the Voluntary Separation Program? You will need to sign a release of claims in order to receive the severance payout. If you are age 40 or over, you will have at least 45 days to consider and seek advice about the release. If you decide to participate, you may sign the release anytime within the 45 days after you receive it. You will have seven (7) days to revoke your release of claims if you choose
