A. For gift of cash, donors must be able to show that the contribution left their possession as an irrevocable transfer to the Foundation before the end of the 2011 calendar year. For publicly traded mutual funds, the asset transfer must be initiated by December 9th. For publicly traded stocks and bonds, the last day to initiate the asset transfer is December 19th.
