Ted Turner who founded CNN is the owner of the largest amount of land in the US at over two million acres and much of that property is in Montana. Turner Ranches own four different Montana Ranches and includes 40,000 Bison in its holdings. Turner Ranches includes one million acres in New Mexico alone and four seperate ranch operations in Nebraska, and three each in Oklahoma Kansas and South Dakota. The National Bison Range contains only about 400 Bison on 18,500 acres. The Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic site is a mere 1,618 acres.
