What is the largest/fastest hard drive that the Dimension supports?

Computers running Windows XP SP1 or higher should not have any size limitations. I personally have a 160 GB Western Digital 7200RPM Ultra-ATA/100 drive on my Dimension 2350 and it works just fine. Dell published a list of the largest tested/shipped drives for the 2350 in 2003 which showed the Dimension 2350 at 120 gB which was the largest tested/shipped drive at that time, but the list is now outdated and has caused much confusion. Here’s a link to that article. The Dimension line has an IDE (Ultra ATA/100) controller which works with almost every IDE drive, but means that they won’t directly support ATA 133 drives at full speed without a separate PCI controller card. If you’ve bought an ATA 133, don’t worry, the drives are backwards compatible and will work at ATA 100 speeds using the built in controller card.
