What is the Laptop Initiative for Future Educators?

0

The Laptop Initiative for Future Educators (LIFE) is a comprehensive program to immerse future teachers in technology-rich environments so that they become competent in using technology learning tools in their instruction. The College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin has implemented this technology program for the Professional Development Sequence of UT teacher certification programs, in which all students are required to have a laptop computer. UTeach-Liberal Arts is an active participant in the LIFE program. A Macintosh laptop computer is required beginning in UTL 303, and for the UTeach-Liberal Arts courses that follow. These laptops are available at a discount, and financial aid loan resources are available for purchasing them. Visit the College of Education Laptop Initiative page or speak with your Financial Aid Counselor to learn more. If you have questions about the laptop requirement, see the UTeach-Liberal Arts Program Advisor.
