What is the language spoken in Morocco?
The history and geography of Morocco explain the ability of Moroccans to understand and speak with ease foreign languages. In Morocco, one speaks Arabic dialect everywhere. The classical Arabic, the language of the Koran, is the official language taught in schools and used by the media. But in Morocco, the tourist is never lost. Spanish is spoken in northern regions, English is widespread in most tourist places (the English have recently discovered Morocco and are more and more interested in Morocco!) And, of course, French is practiced by most Moroccan. In Morocco, you will notice that most of the people speak several languages, including in hotels, restaurants and shops, but also in coffee shops or in the street!
