What is the language and currency of Spain?
While the primary language of Spain is Spanish, many Spaniards speak English. In Barcelona, Catalan is also spoken and used on signs and other print material. The unit of currency in Spain is the Euro (EUR). U.S. dollars are not accepted at hotels, shops or restaurants, but ATM machines are available in most places along the adventure to obtain cash in Euros. Most hotels and restaurants accept major credit cards or single-use debit cards. Adventure Guides can assist with any language barriers and currency issues.
