What is the land use designation (zoning) of a parcel of land?
To determine the land use designation (zoning) of a parcel of land, please visit our office, consult a planner and/or the Development Authority, and refer to the maps in our Land Use Bylaw (C-4841-97). You may need the legal description of the parcel of land you wish to inquire about, although that may not be entirely necessary in every instance. Staff will assist you in looking up a land use designation of a parcel of land. The land use designation of a parcel can not be provided over the telephone, because of the importance of accuracy. For a fee (as defined in the Master Rates Bylaw) you may write and request the Development Authority to confirm the zoning in writing.
