What is the Kodaly Method of teaching music?
The Kodaly method of teaching uses a spiraling curriculum of skills for it’s literacy program. It teaches skills aurally, orally, physically, and visually. Most of the music used is authentic American folk songs. Most singing is unaccompanied to help children develop their voices and rely on their ear, rather than a piano or recorded accompaniment. Students learn to read, write, and play music while developing a beautiful singing voice.
