What is the key to getting dramatic results like those for the Toronto Dominion Bank and Canadian Tire?
The ISD process allows us to work toward the desired goal. For the TD Bank the goal was to raise the level of the employees’ performance (see Performance Assessment). This level (attaining 1st place) was validated by the annual Marketing Solutions surveys. For Canadian Tire the goal was to reduce the time spent in training: from 8 hours in a traditional classroom to 35 minutes on-line (better than anyone expected – see Performance Assessment). It’s easy to forget the project goal during development and later during evaluation. You have to refer to the project goal constantly.
