What is the Job of a Regional Planner? What is Urban Regional Planning?
Regional planners, urban planners, and suburban planners are responsible for developing long-term use for urban and rural communities. With large increases in population, social and environmental problems that occur from having many people in one place must be addressed. Urban planners are responsible for promoting proper use of a communities land, and they designate resources for recreational, commercial, and residential purposes. Suburban planners may also dress environmental and social health issues that occur within the community, and plan a construction of new infrastructure. Other roles of the urban planner include pollution control, forest conservation, and placing new landfills. Before starting a new project, urban planners study existing land and determine how it should best be used in order to maximize the value of residential, government, and business purposes. When regional planners have this information, they will then listen to the community in order to reach a consensus
