What Is the Job Description of a Choreographer?
If you have ever attended a Broadway play or the ballet, or watched a film such as “High School Musical,” “Grease” or “Footloose,” you may wonder who coordinates and puts together all the fabulous dance numbers. That person’s title is “choreographer.” The word choreography comes from the Greek, meaning “circular dance,” and is often referred to as the art of making structures in which movement occurs. This movement is referred to as choreography, and the people who create choreography are choreographers. Famous choreographers include Debbie Allen, Paula Abdul and Bob Fosse.
