The medical billing and coding field has a promising future as the health care industry undergoes major reform. Today, government regulations and a growth in health care needs have caused an increase in the amount of data and paperwork needed to file insurance claims. In addition, medical facilities have started sending all health records, bills and coding electronically to protect patients’ private medical information and speed up efficiency. In this ever-changing industry, medical billing and coding will see many improvements in the future. The employment rate and salary outlooks of those working in the field are expected to increase by 2016.
