What is the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010?
The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 (“9/11 Act”), establishes a Federal program to support monitoring and treatment for emergency responders, recovery and cleanup workers of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City, at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania; and residents, building occupants, and area workers who were adversely affected by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City. The 9/11 Act also authorizes education and outreach for individuals eligible for monitoring and treatment benefits, the collection and analysis of physical and mental health data, and research to better understand health conditions associated with the terrorist attacks.
