The JAA is an associated body of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) representing the civil aviation regulatory authorities of a number of 33 European states that have agreed to cooperate in developing and implementing common safety regulatory standards and procedures. The JAA and the FAA work together to create complementary air traffic safety standards. The JAA is located at Hoofddorp (Netherlands).
