What is the Ivy League? What is the list of Ivy League colleges?
At its core, the Ivy League is simply an athletic conference. The Ivy League consists of eight very old schools that are part of a very old football league. The eight schools in the Ivy League are Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Penn, Brown, Columbia, and Cornell. The Ivy League is prestigious because it does not allow additional members beyond the original eight, and because all of the schools in the Ivy League are top-notch.
