PMAPS is incredibly well engineered. It only requires 400MB of total storage space on a standard network server. Most everyday desktop computers are sufficient to run PMAPS. There are no IT maintenance responsibilities past the hosting of PMAPS on your network. However, PMAPS WebPro does require an SQL back-end database.
