What is the island of Margarita like and what should I expect?
As a stark contrast, the Isle de Margarita will be a welcome low energy, balmy and relaxing venue where you will feel like you stepped into a time warp the moment you exit the airplane. It is no more than a 2 hour drive from end to end with breath taking views everywhere. There are occasional showers that blow over for minutes and the sun then magically reappears. The beaches are beautiful and the water very swimable. The capital of Porlamar has it’s own urban feel with malls and even a casino. Our hotel will be on the beach approximately a 30 minute bus ride away. Everything is “Duty Free” so I would wait to make souvener and alcohol purchases here. Life in general is pretty simple on Margarita compared to Caracas. We feel the contrast will only add to your tour experience. So wind down and enjoy true island paradise!
