The Championship Meet is a special end-of-season meet held on the second Saturday of August. The meet is held at the William Woollett Aquatics Facility (adjacent to Heritage Park & Irvine High School). Invited swimmers from all 18 ISL teams will compete at this Meet. Swimmers that have achieved a “qualifying time” during one of the 5 regular meets in any event will be invited to compete at the Championship Meet. Normally about 20-40% of a given ISL team will achieve a qualifying time. Participation at the Meet is optional, however most invited swimmers do attend. Additionally, any swimmer who does not achieve a qualifying time can select a favorite event and swim in that event only at the Championship Meet. Most of the Riptide Team participates in the Championship meet, and you are encouraged to do so. The practice regimen for the last two weeks of practice is modified to prepare for Championships.
