WHAT IS THE INVESTMENT POLICY OF EDP PLK?
Edip plik has made investments of over USD 31 million in the last 10 years. Investments have been in parallel to the creation of new corporate funds and the Corporation has always avoided from extreme borrowing by closely tracking the ratio of net sales to bank loans. After 1998, we temporarily put an end to investments of large scale given bank loans exceeding the USD 20 million limit, economic crises prevailing in the country and over the world and excess capacity in the sector. For the year 2002, the Corporation has budgeted USD 1.5 million for investments of co-generation turbine replacement, data processing and some urgent machinery and equipment. Postponed investments will be resumed in 2003 provided that political and economic stability is reinstated in the country and the amount of corporate borrowing may be reduced to less than USD 10 million.
