Ans: As per the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act passed by the Parliament on May 18, 2006, the investment limit in plant and machinery for small scale industries has been enhanced to Rs. 5 crores. However, the Central Government appoints the 2nd day of October, 2006 as the date on which the provisions of the MSMED Act shall come into force.
