what is the intervention for hemolysis?
You must determine the underlying cause and correct it some hemolysis are due a destruction of the red blood cell (RBC)by the spleen, it could be bcause it has a weak membrane (spherocitosis or sickle cell anemia) or the spleen is creating antibodies against the RBC (autoinmune hemolytic anemia). In this cases the intervention is to remove the spleen.Another cause of RBC destruction is when it gets stocked in the vessels bcause there is something that not allows the normal flow of blood (trombus in the vessel, due to trombocitopenic trombosis or diseminated intravascular coagulation). SOmetimes it’s due to a inmune reaction to a drug, for example the antibiotics beta lactams (like penicillines and cephalosporin) can cause hemolisis by binding to the RBC and causing them not to be recognized as own cells by the inmune system. In this case the intervention is to remove the drug Or you can get a hereditary disease in wich the RBC is less tolerant to oxidative stress, like Glucose 6 phospa
