What is the International Residency?
The International Residency is an intensive, in-depth look at the unique challenges of doing business internationally. The International Residency is focused around a project related to either a local business with international interests or an international company. Students travel to an international location where they meet with local business people, academics, and government officials, visit local companies, and gather information relevant to the project. The students then return to the US to complete the project.
Our International Residency gives students a deeper understanding of emerging and mature markets all over the world, including a broadened sensitivity to cultural and social differences and similarities, which can have a profound impact on global business. The program is led by senior faculty and incorporates pre-program lectures, guest speakers and project assignments, on-site work, and final team presentations. On-site work includes company visits, plant tours, presentations and panel discussions led by senior government and business leaders, lectures from local university professors, and the opportunity to experience local culture. Previous International Residencies have been in Vienna, Austria; Warsaw, Poland; Dublin, Ireland; London, England; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santiago, Chile; Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Budapest, Hungary.
