The current federally set interest rates for subsidized undergraduate Stafford loans first disbursed on or after July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 is a fixed rate of 6.0%. Effective July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, this fixed rate decreases to 5.6% .The interest rate on unsubisidized Stafford (undergraduate and graduate) or subsidized graduate Stafford loans is a fixed rate of 6.80% from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010.
