The hygiene tray, or solo operator tray positions the tray in the transfer area i.e. the instrument passing area just where a well assisted dentist would be passed instruments. This tray makes it natural for a hygienist to pick up a mirror or a suction device with the left hand while simultaneously picking up a scaler or an air/water syringe with the right hand, without twisting.
