What is the Inspector General Status?
The Inspector General Status indicates whether or not a specific healthcare practitioner is on the List of Excluded Individuals/Entities maintained by the Office of the Inspector General, DHHS and, therefore, barred from participating in a Federally funded healthcare program. Among the reasons for inclusion in the list are convictions for program-related fraud, patient abuse, adverse license-board actions, and default on a Health Education Assistance Loan.
