What is the Inquiry into human trafficking?
• The Inquiry is on human trafficking relating to Scotland with focus on trafficking into commercial sexual exploitation; • The Inquiry was launched in February 2010, is led by Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, the Inquiry’s Investigating Commissioner; • The Inquiry’s has four terms of reference on the nature, extent, causes, policy, and practices relating to human trafficking; • The Inquiry will look into the different purposes of human trafficking and will have a particular interest in sex trafficking; • The Inquiry will comprise evidence gathering with public and non-governmental bodies, community groups, and victims; • The Inquiry has established an Advisory Group to give expert advice on the Inquiry’s draft findings and recommendations; • The Inquiry hopes to publish its final report with findings and recommendations in spring or summer 2011.
