What is the Indiana law concerning child restraints?
Any child up to and including children seven years of age must be properly fastened and restrained, according to the child restraint manufacturer’s instructions, by a child restraint system. All youths eight years old until they reach their 16th birthday must be properly restrained in a child safety seat or safety belt in all vehicles, in all seating positions, including vehicles with pickup truck plates. It is strongly reccomended all children be placed in the rear seat of the vehicle where it is safest. This law takes effect on July 1, 2005.
