What is the importance to us of natural resources?
Humanity benefits from natural resources every day. Because we utilize those resources to create things we need. Examples? Flora – humans use plants to make food, clothes, medicines, furniture, houses, paper. We have been able to develop socially because the controlled growing of plants allows humans to harvest food on a regular schedule, which allowed more people to live in an area and develop technology. Fauna – animals. The domestication of animals has helped humanity hunt, farm, travel. Think about the benefits of dogs, horses and cats over the last few hundred years. Minerals – metals are incredibly important to the development of technology. We call them the iron age, bronze age, etc for a reason.. In more current times humanity continues to use plants, animals and minerals to create and power our lifestyles. Consider the ramifications of the world running out of oil or coal.
