What is the importance of the Bell Curve when it comes to students test results?

I don’t think teachers use the Bell Curve too much anymore. With the Bell Curve results are parcelled out in a bell shape. Therefore there will be a certain number of As, Bs. Cs, Ds, & Fs. Technically if everyone scored in the 80 percentile, the lower 80s would be an F.
