What is the importance of follicular cysts?
Follicle contains egg which is normally released from this bag when it is ripe. After the bag ruptured and released from the egg, it will normally disintegrate. But when that bag does not break, it will continue to grow, and if it ends up measuring greater than 8 cm, then surgery is needed. In most cases, they are not so great as they shrink after ovulation. If the follicular cyst breaks then pelvic pain will be felt by women for at least 24 hours because of the bleeding which irritates the abdominal cavity.
