What is the impact on traffic and parking, and the town economy?
The impact on traffic and parking, as well as the economic impact on the town, will be covered in the EIS, expected in late 2008. SHIP’s expectation is that the impact on traffic and parking will not be significant, based on the fact that most people coming to the harbor will come by boat, not car. We expect the economic impact on the town to be positive, not unlike that of a new downtown hotel, but without the need for new buildings or parking facilities.
