What is the impact of using a longer than recommended cure profile?
The recommended cure profile should be used to achieve optimal cured material properties. When the recommended cure profile is used, typically more than 95% completion of cure is achieved. However, it is nearly impossible to consume all the reactive functional groups during the cure process, therefore, any additional exposure to temperatures above cure temperature will allow residual functional groups to crosslink resulting in increased Tg and modulus.
