What is the impact of the local climate and climate change?
“El Nino” has its origin in Ecuador. This phenomenon happens every 10 to 12 years and has a big impact on the world’s climate. For Ecuador it means more rainfall which is not necessarily bad for the trees. The current reports on climate change don’t predict a large impact on the weather in Ecuador for the coming decades. La Nina is another climate phenomenon. This one happens more often, every 2 to 3 years, and causes significantly more rain in South America.
