What is the impact of the Harlem Renaissance?
Harlem Renaissance, an internationally acclaimed flowering of African-American cultural production, including photography, between the wars. The rapid modernization of the African-American population during the early 20th century, the by-product of migration, urbanization, industrialization, the First World War, and a volatile racial climate, forged a national consciousness and sense of community.
