The law states that someone does not have to have a sponsoring company to get a license. Also, the producer may begin soliciting business immediately after signing a contract with the insurer. The insurer has 15 days to request the appointment from the Mississippi Insurance Department (MID). MID has 30 days to issue the appointment.
