The GTZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fr Technische Zusammenarbeit), the International Labour Office (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have joined forces in order to strengthen technical support and provide comprehensive advice on social health protection at the request of countries. Building upon the strong ongoing cooperation (e.g. in Kenya and Indonesia), the three organizations intend to further enhance their support in the field of social protection in health. Recent activities include the: • International Conference on Social Health Insurance in Berlin, December 2005; • Meeting on Expanding Social Protection in Health: The Way Ahead for Technical Agencies, Copenhagen, June 2006; • Conference on Extending Social Health Insurance to Informal Economy Workers, Manila, Philippines, October 2006.
