What is the Idle speed for the fuel injected F650?
• For single spark FI F650’s, it should be 1500rpm. If your idle speed is lower (1400rpm or 1300rpm), it is likely you have an older version of the fuel injection software – talk to your local dealer to see about getting your software updated. • For dual spark FI F650’s, it should also be 1500rpm, however some people have noted it can sometimes idle at 1400rpm. If you see the revs going lower than this, listen to the engine – if the sound of the engine is changing, you have a big problem. If the engine sounds normal, then you are experiencing a known problem with the FI F650. The best way to kill the engine, wait ten seconds, then restart the bike – the tach should show the correct engine speed.
